We believe in the healing
power of community
At Beyond Surviving, the survivor’s healing journey is nurtured through our holistic approach.
We are not a crisis centre; we are a vital bridge and survivor-led hub, prioritising social connection, healing support, and survivor advocacy, agency and empowerment. We support those affected by DSGBVA in embracing their strength and
thriving on the healing journey.

Connection
Connecting with fellow survivors who share similar experiences is incredibly healing. Sometimes, all we need to know is we’re not alone. Social connection is vital to our wellbeing, bringing comfort, validation, new perspectives and support. These relationships strengthen us as we navigate this challenging path of healing and recovery.

Advocacy
When we advocate for ourselves and others, it nurtures our sense of agency and empowerment. Advocacy strengthens our relationships with fellow survivors and those equally passionate about collective action. Having our voices heard and making a difference fosters a deeper sense of purpose, resilience and healing. Your voice is a powerful one.

Healing Support
Healing is a complex, non-linear process, making it crucial for survivors to feel supported in diverse ways along their journey. With healing comes much uncertainty, and survivors benefit greatly from guidance on reclaiming their lives after trauma, and from comprehensive support that enhances wellbeing.

Empowerment
A sense of agency empowers us, while empowerment strengthens our agency. This powerful duo fuels our healing journey, propels our growth, and provides the nourishment our wellbeing needs. Empowerment encourages us to stand tall and embrace all aspects of ourselves—including the scars left behind by trauma.

- guided reflections: and moving towards a future on your terms
- exploration: what taking back your control represent for you
- connection: lots of chats + refreshments can be ordered to the venue
We’re delighted to hold this safe space for you and hope to see you there.

‘Survivors Who Advocate’
12:00 – 14:00
Dublin 7
May
10
This is our ‘Survivors Who Advocate’ initiative where we join forces as survivors to engage in meaningful discussions and collective action on the issues that matter most to us. We meet regularly, discuss advocacy efforts, our grievances, our experiences and why and how things should and will change for the next survivor. Why?
Because advocating for ourselves and others nurtures our sense of agency and empowerment. We are the experts of our own experiences and our voices hold great power!
Are you passionate about having your voice heard on persistent issues that affect so many of us—rape culture, inactive bystanders, DSGBVA ignorance, misogyny, consent, male violence, court procedures, and the treatment & protection of victims? Have you ever read a court case report and just screamed “NO that can’t be right!!” —because we have!
