Welcome to 'Your Healing,' a safe space to explore and nurture our healing and wellbeing—together!

Healing from trauma can be a lonely, challenging process, no matter what stage of the journey you’re at. We invite you to connect with fellow survivors and share your insights and experiences on the healing journey¹. Together, we can navigate the many ways to nurture our healing, wellbeing², & growth. This community aims to cultivate curiosity, support, insight, & hope.

Remember, there’s no strict roadmap to follow, nor are any two healing journeys ever the same. This is ‘Your Healing’, in whatever way works best for you—and it can be navigated together!

¹We don’t publish stories of sexual violence in detail. Please visit We-Speak instead.

²We’ll tag the wellbeing catagories as the journeys come in.

I am a retired teacher (content redacted). I have just completed a ‘Peaced Together’ course (content redacted), which acknowledged that trauma and events which happen in our life, shatter our lives into little pieces. With time we put back the pieces together, never in the way they were together originally, but with a new light

My assault journey

In early February, I was attacked while walking my dog before work. It was just after 5:30 a.m. A man I didn’t know came at me with a knife. The physical wounds are healing. The emotional ones—fear, hypervigilance, guilt—are harder to treat. In the days after, I asked myself over and over: Why was I

I’m stronger than steel…I am still here

Attacked by (content redacted) who had known me since I was 14, he then stole my dog and harassed me online. This experience has taught me that I’m made of granite, I’m stronger than steel. I wish I wasn’t because it’s exhausting but I am. I wish I didn’t have to have been strong, forced

Don’t give up on yourself

There is a sense of freedom and power once you speak your truth. But it is a long journey of self-discovery, trauma, pain of releasing that inner scream that you held onto to protect yourself. Don’t give up on yourself. It’s ok to retrieve and switch off. Some days are better than others.

“An outpouring of love and support from survivors”

In the moments where you are doubting yourself, your truths, your body and mind, just remember that this is YOUR body, YOUR mind and YOUR TRUTH. Abusers take so much from us. We can’t let them take our truth. My truth is that for years during and after the abuse, I felt like I didn’t

Let’s help each other achieve full & positive healing through this connection space💜

All I can say is that my heart is full. I’m healing for over 20 years from a violent stranger assault. This is one of the most important pieces I’ve ever written so bare with me. The first time I visited a crisis centre, I requested to meet any other survivor who had endured a

Positive self-talk, some advice :)

Hey survivors!! Thought I’d share this little nugget of information with you as I found it pretty interesting 🙂 Instead of saying “I’m really anxious” or “I’m angry” “I’m sad”, I was told to say “I am feeling anxious, I am feeling really angry or I’m feeling sad” because we are not our emotions or

Tapping

I’m a huge fan of emotional freedom technique EFT or tapping as it’s more commonly known. It’s similar to accupuncture but without the needles so it’s less invasive. I find it’s great to use alongside affirmations. I connect really well with it and feel a sense of calmness and emotional release. I find it very
