Ciara Mangan (she/ her)

Professional Trauma-Informed Coach

Ciara is a trauma-informed coach and founding member of Beyond Surviving. She holds a BA in Business Studies with German, a Professional Diploma in Coaching & Mentoring, and a specialised Trauma-Informed Coaching Certificate. A survivor of premeditated rape and victim harassment, Ciara brings over seven years’ lived experience navigating the Irish criminal justice system.

Ciara is a formidable advocate for victim-survivors of domestic, sexual and gender-based violence, with particular strengths and interests in survivor-led work, trauma-informed practice, survivor-centred approaches and justice system reform.

Having joined the Board as a founding member, Ciara has been central to successfully establishing and steering the organisation from inception. She is committed to growing a sustainable, scalable, survivor-led movement that supports long-term healing and drives systemic, structural and cultural change.

Oliver Lawrence (he/ him)

Vice President, Asset Management, Kyndryl

Oliver Lawrence is a survivor of paternal childhood sexual abuse and brings a life-long journey of 50 years’ lived experience, including discovering about other victims through a public enquiry.

Oliver has had a 35 year varied professional career, focused in the IT sector, living and working in UK, Singapore and, for 30 years, Ireland, with a focus on operations and governance.  Oliver is married with two adult children.

As a Trustee for Beyond Surviving, Oliver is committed to combining his personal and professional experience in a positive and constructive manner to help guide the organisation to achieve its long-term survivor-led ambitions, whilst ensuring a focus on robust governance and transparency.

Lisa Fallon (she/ her)

Professional Football Head Coach

Lisa works at the leading edge of global sport specialising in high-performance systems, cultures and strategies that enable the people operating within them to thrive in demanding and challenging circumstances.

She is a formidable advocate for creating safe environments which empower all to reach their potential with fairness and equity, particularly in male-dominated sporting, civil and corporate environments. She has acquired professional certification in Strategic Leadership and Governance and brings previous Director and committee experience to our Board, while has also consulted with a large number of civil, corporate and sporting entities (nationally and globally) on addressing and tackling perception biases in the workplace or performance environment.

As Beyond Surviving’s Trustee with Lived Experience, Lisa is committed to utilising her personal and professional experience to advocate for a fairer and more equitable Irish justice-system experience for victim-survivors of DSGBV, with a focus on improving governance and criminal investigation/trial processes, advocating for survivor-led representation at all levels of the decision and policy-making process.

Andrew Mussett (he/ him)

Former Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Andrew Mussett is the Treasurer of Beyond Surviving, he joined the Board in 2025. Andrew relocated to Ireland and retired in 2024 and now lives in North Dublin, with his wife.

They have two older children, who remain in UK.

Prior to retirement Andrew worked predominately for US Multinationals, holding CFO and FD senior leadership roles across EMEA.

He is a qualified Chartered Management Accountant (UK) CIMA, Chartered Treasurer (UK) AMCT, and Qualified Financial Advisor (IRL) QFA.

Edel Walsh (she/ her)

Advocacy Officer, Irish Deaf Society

Edel is a founding Board member of Beyond Surviving and is strongly committed to the organisation’s mission, bringing both her professional expertise and her perspective as someone who has supported a loved one who is a survivor. She works as an Advocacy Officer with the Irish Deaf Society, where she provides direct support to clients and contributes to national-level advocacy. Edel is an expert in accessibility, ensuring that Deaf people can access vital services, information, and supports on an equal basis. With a BA in Deaf Studies and additional training in counselling and psychotherapy, she brings over six years’ experience in advocacy, project management, and community engagement. She is passionate about creating inclusive, survivor-centred approaches across all areas of her work.

Shaakya Anand-Vembar (she/ her)

Research Fellow: Trinity College Dublin & University of Galway

Shaakya is a researcher and psychologist specialising in public and patient involvement, trauma, and mental health. She holds a Ph.D. in Psychiatry from Trinity College Dublin, during which she focused on exploring experiences of shame in survivors of childhood sexual abuse. She currently works as a postdoctoral research fellow at Trinity College Dublin and the University of Galway.

A seasoned nomad, she has previously lived in India, Indonesia, the United States, and the Netherlands, gaining extensive experience across the research and NGO sectors internationally. In Ireland, Shaakya has continued working with nonprofits, most recently as a research project officer at AkiDwA: Network of Migrant Women. She has also been closely involved in a range of grassroots social justice campaigns.

As a Trustee, Shaakya hopes to use her expertise in generating data, experience in fundraising in the nonprofit and research sectors, and her lived experience as a survivor, to help grow Beyond Surviving into an evidence-based national hub for DSGBV support and advocacy.

Sarah Grace (she/ her)

Global Head of Corporate Governance, Stripe

Sarah is a corporate lawyer and a certified yoga teacher. Of French and Irish nationality, she holds an LLB in law and French law from University College London and Université Paris II Panthéon-Assas. She previously lived in Japan, Cambodia, France and England. She brings with her international experience and deep corporate governance expertise.

Since surviving a violent sexual assault in 2019, she has been dedicated to supporting other survivors and has been working tirelessly with policy makers for legal reforms, including Ministers for Justice Helen McEntee TD and Jim O’Callaghan TD. She is the bestselling author of ‘Ash + Salt’, in which she sets out the tools for survivors to navigate Ireland’s criminal justice system, and charts the path back to healing.

As the Legal Trustee of the Board, she combines her two passions of effective corporate governance and building a brighter future for all survivors of sexual and gender-based violence.

Clodagh Dunne (she/ her)

Project Analyst

Clodagh is a founding Board member of Beyond Surviving and is committed to the organisation’s mission, bringing both her professional expertise and her perspective as someone who has supported a loved one who is a survivor.

She works as a Project Analyst in the Medical Devices sector, where she supports the delivery of global transformation programmes. Clodagh brings her professional experience in project management and consulting to support the administrative and organisational aspects of the charity.

Clodagh also holds an LLB and LLM, with her Masters research focusing on decision making capacity for vulnerable adults. She is passionate about empowering survivors, and promoting respect and dignity for those unable to advocate for themselves.

Sarah Hegarty (she/ her)

Global Director of Communications, Fyffes

Sarah is a corporate reputation and communications specialist with over twenty years of experience working across the corporate and non-profit sectors. She brings expertise in corporate strategy, strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, and ethical leadership, with a strong track record of supporting organisations that drive positive social change.

She has worked with Fleishman Hillard, RTÉ, President of Ireland Michael D. Higgins, Concern Worldwide, Cuan and recently joined Fyffes as Global Director of Communications.

She has a BA in French and Spanish, Masters in Communications, Public Relations and Advertising and is an executive coach. Passionate about equity, inclusion, and survivor advocacy, she is proud to join Beyond Surviving as a Trustee to help amplify the voices of those with lived experience and contribute to the organisation’s mission to support survivors so that they may heal, grow and ultimately, flourish.

Fiona Bourdin-Farrell (she/ her)

Independent Consultant

Fiona Bourdin-Farrell is an award-winning People and Culture professional. She is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), with a Bachelor’s degree in Management (University of Dublin, Trinity College, Ireland), and a Master’s degree in Sustainable Development (Central Queensland University, Australia). Fiona is also an experienced Certified Professional Coach.

Fiona has over 30 years’ global leadership experience in the private and international development sectors, having been based in Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and the USA throughout her career. She is the former Global Director of People and Culture at CGIAR, where she also established its first highly successful global diversity and inclusion function. She has been Director Human Resources at ICRISAT, UN Women, and IRRI, has served in UNDP, and has held senior roles in multiple private sector organizations including McKinsey & Company, Sodexho and the Persequor group. Fiona has served on key global panels and HR working groups, in addition to contributing to the development of the UN System-wide Strategy on Gender Parity and the Supplementary Guidance on the Enabling Environment Guidelines for the United Nations System.

She is deeply committed to the mission of Beyond Surviving, and to fostering a community of thriving survivors of domestic, sexual and gender‑based violence and abuse.
